July 1, 2024

Aliva UK is celebrating a hat-trick of award shortlistings in the prestigious Facade Awards UK 2024 for its sustainable facade solutions.

Morris House, Nottingham, has been shortlisted in two categories: the Best New Build Project (North) and the Best Brick Slip Cladding System. Aliva’s signature A1 EWI clay brick system features acute and obtuse angled slips alongside corbel detailing and stone rainscreen cladding as an accent feature. A stunning project for PBSA specialist Unite Students, Aliva worked in partnership with main contractor RG Group, architect Hadfield Cawkwell Davidson and installer Stoneguard to deliver this flagship sustainable build in the student accommodation sector. Cortland Broad St, Birmingham, has also been shortlisted in the Best Brick Slip System category. It features Aliva’s A1 EWI clay brick system with repetition, reliability and the realisation of design flair. It includes a repeating chamfer detailing as the ‘basketweave’ reveal to the sides of windows running up the entire 35 storeys, as well as a recessed detailing feature to windows of the lower block. Aliva worked in partnership with main contractor RG Group, architect Corstorphine & Wright and installer Pic Construction Group to deliver this BTR project for client Cortland.

Winners will be announced in November and are brought to the facade industry by the publishers of RCI magazine. These awards raise awareness of the critical role facades play in modern architecture, reward excellence in facade design and promote the importance of collaboration between product manufacturers and contractors.

Aliva UK MD James Ormerod said: “Three is the magic number for our Facade Awards UK shortlisting and we’re thrilled that these two signature projects have been recognised for the sustainability benefits that these systems create alongside the delivery of statement aesthetics that deliver on architectural design intent. A demonstration of strong partnership working that has delivered signature results.”

Winners will be announced on 8 November at an awards ceremony in Manchester.

Aliva UK has been the proud recipient of a Facade Awards UK trophy previously, for its bespoke terracotta facade on Elm House in Brighton. Read more here.
