Aliva UK’s rainscreen cladding and EWI systems have created a suite of customised aesthetics alongside thermally efficient solutions for three airport hotels spanning the UK.
Aviator Hotel Farnborough
The sleek profile of our silver Onda Alu.covering® rainscreen cladding system created a signature aesthetic for the boutique Aviator Hotel at the private airport TAG London Farnborough.

The luxury hotel was created for the international business community flying to and from TAG London Farnborough and for the many hi-tech, defence and aerospace companies located in the hotel’s vicinity.
Aviator was designed by Hamilton Associates to look like an aeroplane’s propeller when viewed from the sky, featuring a complex curvilinear metal roof structure with a curved central atrium and aluminium cladding to the facade.

The crisp undulation and lines of our Onda Alu.covering® profile, an extruded aluminium alloy used in horizontal orientation for Aviator, realised the architectural vision for this bespoke aviation themed project.
The ‘aerodynamic’ synergy and style of our Onda profile, together with the smooth silver tones chosen to complement a propeller aesthetic with our powder coated facade, meant the architectural design intent was met without compromise.
Holiday Inn Express Aberdeen Airport
Architects Urban Innovations wanted a finish that would not only look stunning but would be highly durable for this airport hotel.

Aberdeen experiences extreme weather conditions and the hotel’s location is very exposed to the elements. The architects wanted the 193-bed Holiday Inn Express to retain its fresh, bright, sharp and attractive appearance. It also needed to visually stand out as it forms a central hub, located just a five-minute walk from the busy airport and within easy reach of four key business parks.

We provided our AlivaClassic with a silicone finish in the white and grey colours specified, meeting the thermal requirements and providing a beautiful, weatherproof and long-lasting finish.

The silicone texture allows rainwater to bead on the surface which it can then run down, removing dirt and grime that would otherwise attach itself to the damp face of the building.
Our silicone External Wall Insulation has been formulated with algaecides and fungicides, and has also been proven to retain both the colour and sharpness. It has the Fraunhofer Institut fur Bauphysik certification for algae and fungal resistant coatings.
Bloc Hotel Gatwick
Architects Scott Brownrigg chose our AlivaClassic External Wall Insulation system to create a sleek, stylish and thermally efficient finish for this hotel.
The EWI system created the ideal climatic conditions for the hotel’s external walls. Thanks to the system, heat does not escape from the walls in winter and it minimises solar penetration in the summer, creating a comfortable environment for hotel guests.

A key element of our EWI systems is our cold pigment finishes, which create darker colours in our colour palette. Bloc Hotel Gatwick features our dark grey EWI for the main body of the building and mid grey for the spandrels between the windows. Our AlivaClassic system created a thermally efficient, stylish aesthetic for Bloc Hotel’s Gatwick location.
