Aliva UK is part of Gruppo IVAS, an Italian headquartered robust global group with proven longevity.
From a small painting business Ferruccio Colonna founded IVAS (Impresa Verniciatori e Affini Sammaurese) in 1953, with its founding roots in the paint and varnishes industry, expanding into the external insulation market in the late 70s and into the ventilated facade market in the 90s.
Colonna family-owned since 1953, Gruppo IVAS has demonstrating its market strength, sustained sector leading innovation underlined by its inherent Italian design flair in architectural solutions over the last seven decades, with its suite of contemporary and customised facade systems.
From its Italian roots, and with its 70th anniversary celebrated, Gruppo IVAS is proud of its international footprint, it operates in 30 plus countries with over 250 employees and consultants part of its operations.
The Group’s headquarters, paints and varnishes manufacturing, thermal insulation and technical mortars and its ventilated facades manufacturing base is in San Mauro Pascoli, Italy.

Sustainability Championed In EPS Manufacture
San Mauro Pascoli is also home to our parent company’s flagship EPS plant, demonstrating the group’s commitment to driving the sustainability agenda forward by ensuring operations are positively contributing to European 2050 Net Zero Carbon targets with sustainable ETICS manufacture. The inauguration of the plant in 2024 created the First Green Building Valley Envelope Efficiency District in Italy. The new automated production plant is the most technologically advanced in Italy and is powered by a 650 Kw photovoltaic system.
The new EPS insulation manufacturing plant is pioneering the sustainable production of Expanded Polystyrene System insulation panels featuring recycled materials. The EPS+ division guarantees a quality insulation material which includes a percentage of recycled EPS core product, to reuse and recycle materials for the good of the planet’s raw resources.
The plant makes IVAS the only producer of EWI systems with 90% of materials produced in house, reducing carbon footprint from transport miles.
It will produce c. 300,000 m3, corresponding to c. 2.5 million m2 of insulating panels for the built environment market, which will help improve energy performance and environmental impact, reducing energy consumption and achieving high thermal and acoustic comfort.

A Tribute To Our Former Leaders
We pay tribute to brothers Werther Colonna, former Group Chairman, and Vincenzo Colonna, former Group CEO, both inspirational leaders of the business, whose vision for continuous innovation has helped make Gruppo IVAS the market leader that it is today. The leadership of the business today sits with Vincenzo’s son Jacopo and Werther’s son Filippo, who serve as joint CEOs, continuing their fathers’ legacies.
