Aliva UK passes important BBA insulated render review

Aliva UK has come through with a clean bill of health on stringent requirements for an important industry assessment of wind load calculations on its insulated render systems.

The company provided detailed information for the test, carried out by an independent approved structural engineer for the British Board of Agrement, the leading industry certification body.

The BBA verified that Aliva UK met strict new requirements for wind load calculations and structural design of fixing systems for insulated render covered by BBA Certificate 11/4841, product sheets 1 to 7.

In a letter confirming its decision, the BBA said that ‘the building wind load pressures’ action on the building zones were clearly described and supported by schematic drawings’ and it was ‘satisfied that Aliva UK have demonstrated the necessary knowledge and have processes in place’ to ensure that fixing requirements for its systems were properly established before installation.

Aliva UK Managing Director James Ormerod said: “We were proud to pass this assessment, which further underlines Aliva’s meticulous attention to safety in the design and installation of all of our systems. The BBA required a lot of detailed information, including a company procedure document, which we were happy to provide, recognising the importance of this additional test for the whole industry.”
