Aliva UK is amongst the first of the UK’s cladding suppliers to be enrolled onto the British Board of Agrément’s new Product Excellence Programme (PEP).
The programme, launched in August 2018, was created to give assurance to architects and specifiers that BBA certified cladding products are both ‘technically outstanding’ and of a ‘consistently high standard’.
As an existing supplier of BBA certified insulated rendering systems, Aliva was automatically enrolled on to the PEP which will continue to push for excellence and rigorous testing in construction materials.
Last year, the BBA verified that Aliva UK had met strict requirements for an important industry assessment of wind load calculations on its systems (BBA Certificate 11/4841, product sheets 1 to 7).
Under the new programme, Aliva’s systems will incur random testing alongside the existing on-site audits required by the BBA’s Agrément Certification conditions.
Aliva UK Managing Director James Ormerod said: “We welcome this move from BBA to ensure the testing and certification process of our cladding is as robust as it can possibly be.
“At Aliva, we are meticulous in our attention to safety and consistency and we’re pleased that the BBA is taking further steps to ensure that remains the case across the entire industry.”
