The brief
To create a stunning and flexible open-plan space to meet the daily needs of a young family. The interior designer wanted to use modern, simple textures that worked well with natural light to highlight the many beautiful features of this stylish north London townhouse. The aim was to provide flexible day-to-day living space that also comfortably sets the scene for evening entertaining
What we did
The customer selected textured paints in grey and white from Aliva’s Metropolis Colours range of stunning shades and finishes. For the integral central column of the living space, grey was chosen from the Italian design-inspired Venezia range. This comfortably sits side-by-side with the surround of the kitchen bar which was attractively finished using Metropolis complement the surrounding interior tones.
What makes it special
The finish is traditional Italian lime-based plaster, which worked beautifully with all the natural surrounding materials. The highly reflective quality of the finish is ideal for natural southern-facing light. With its Metropolis Colour range of polished plaster, textured plaster, paint and resin, Aliva is able to recreate any finish, making it a must for architects and designers who want the “wow factor”.
What they say
We were drawn to Metropolis for their stunning plaster effects and chose to enhance a structural element of the space with a stucco- style finish. The result is fantastic and is one of our client’s favourite features. Nina Cooley, Interior Designer, Matteo Bianchi Interior Design.
