The brief
To deliver a cost-effective, high quality insulated render façade for a 1960s tower block that was being upgraded and modernised inside and out to meet current building and thermal value regulations. Wade House is part of the Barton Village project in Eccles, Salford, where major regeneration work is underway. Aliva UK was brought in for the third phase of project, to ensure that quality standards for the building exterior remained high.
What we did
The architect chose our insulated render system in bespoke salmon pink plus blue smooth traditional brick slips and acrylic stock effect brick slips to overclad the ten storey block. They needed a lightweight solution to create a first-class aesthetic and thermal fabric for the building. The brick slips were chosen to complement the existing brick structure and surrounding buildings in the village. The result was a bright, modern finish that transformed the look of an ageing building into an exemplar for 21st Century high-rise living.
What makes it special
Because of the height and sheer expanse of the building, the architect required an insulated render that gave a consistent finish and strong, durable colour to ensure that the building kept its looks. Aliva’s insulated render delivers all this, plus self-cleaning properties that ensure the local community will remain proud of its renewed living space for years to come.
